Powered by 2.5 liter five-cylinder turbo engine, the standard Ford Focus RS gets already impressive 224kW (305hp) and 440Nm of torque. Now, German Ford specialist Wolf Racing, adds more power to the car. The result is 265kW (360hp) and 559Nm at 3,100rpm. The car will appear at the 2009 Essen Motor Show which takes place from 28th November.
The tuner has also made a lot of adjustments to the chassis and suspension system to cope with the extra power. For instance, there is a new multi-plate differential lock installed on the front axle to improve the handling. The suspension can be lowered by some 30mm while the coilover suspension also helps improve road holding.
As for the styling, the Wolf Focus RS gets a choice of 18, 19 or 20-inch light alloy wheels cut in various finishes like matt black, while exterior colour choices include red, orange, charcoal or other colour strips, and the interior options include aluminium pedals and foot rests.
These upgrades range from €1,299 for the engine to €399 for the 19-inch wheels down to €98 for Wolf stickers.

The greenest VW Golf BlueMotion Launched in UK: 74.3mpg
VW has been playing the ‘Bluemotion’ card for some time across the range. The ‘BlueMotion Technology’ is frequently used in many models. And now Volkswagen launched the 2010 BlueMotion Golf in the European market. With an impressive 74.3 mpg (3.8 l/100km) and averages 99 g/km in C02 emissions, the BlueMotion Golf becomes the most efficient Golf ever.
To achieve that, the car uses a 1.6-litre TDI common rail turbo diesel motor combined with a slate of fuel-saving technologies like automatic start-stop system, longer gear ratios, brake energy regeneration, hill hold assist and low rolling resistance tyres.
Of course, it won’t be a powerful vehicle. The engine produces 77kW (105 PS) of power and maximum torque of 250Nm (184 lbs ft) made at 1,500 rpm. Its 0-60mph time is 11.3 seconds and a top speed of 118 mph. It’s not going to set your hair on fire, but it’s adequate.
Standard specification is based on that of the standard Golf S model. However, to make the new BlueMotion stand out from the rest of the range, VW is fitting a sports styling kit with a deeper front fascia, a bigger rear spoiler, side skirts and sports bumpers. You also get a set of 15″ ”Wellington’ alloys, chrome grill louvres and the requisite BlueMotion badging.
Inside, there are ABS with ESP, Climatic semi-automatic climate control, a radio/ CD/ MP3 sound system and seven airbags.
Prices start at £17,325 for the 3 door BlueMotion Golf, that is £785 more than the standard S 1.6-litre TDI. The 5 door BlueMotion Golf rises to £17,910.

Honda Civic Type R MUGEN coming to UK
British tuners Mugen Euro, a long-standing tuner of Honda engines for motor racing, has confirmed to bring Honda Civic Type R Mugen to the European market. It’s ultra rare, since only 20 units will be offer. Pricing starts at £38,599 (includes taxes, fees, and paperwork).
Based on the superb Honda Civic Type R, the car gets a tweaked version of the 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine from the standard Civic Type R. Featuring new camshafts and a modified intake system, power has been increased by 20 percent to 177 kW while torque is increased by 10 percent over the standard model.
Other improvements made to the powerplant include pistons increasing the compression ratio, and breathing is enhanced by fitting a custom stainless steel exhaust system and MUGEN airbox. Meanwhile, a bespoke MUGEN map for the ECU allows the engine to take full advantage of the modifications.
MUGEN also worked its magic on the handling by improving the suspension set-up with custom-made springs and dampers. The Type R Mugen also comes with a limited slip differential. Forged alloy wheels weigh only 7.85 kilograms per wheel, and cover four-piston racing caliper brakes. The company wrapped the wheels in "track-ready road-legal" tires.
The Civic Type R MUGEN will be available in Honda's famous racing color Championship White. The styling is aggressive with modifications include a new large rear wing, and new front and rear skirts. A custom grille wearing the MUGEN emblem, was also installed. Inside, Buyers can also opt for a Track Pack that is made up by Recaro front seats, water and oil temperature/pressure gauges, data recording equipment and track-ready road-legal tires. However the package will take away the rear seat bench to help reduce weight.
The Honda Civic Type R MUGEN will be hand-built in the U.K. "Each Type R MUGEN will be an exclusive, hand-built race car for the road," said Mugen Euro VP Hiroki Toyoda. "When we launched the Civic Type RR saloon in Japan, we sold out of all 300 units in just six minutes. Given the interest we have already had from car enthusiasts in the UK and abroad, we hope to repeat that achievement."

Tokyo Motor Show: Lexus LFA Officially Unveiled
The long waited Lexus first supercar, Lexus LFA, is finally unveiled at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show. According to Chief Engineer Haruhiko Tanahashi, the LFA is a thoroughbred supercar to deliver a supreme driving experience. Aimed at cars like the Ferrari 599, the Lexus LFA is expected to raise Lexus from a German imitator to an Italian rival.
Power comes from a bespoke naturally aspirated mid-front 4.8-liter V10 engine that generates 552 bhp with 9,000 rpm and 480 Nm of torque at 6,800 rpm. Ninety percent of torque is available between 3,700rpm and 9,000rpm. It all goes to the rear wheels via a 6-speed ASG transmission featuring heavy-duty synchronizer rings and a newly developed gearshift actuator. The 0-100km/h time is 3.7 seconds while top speed is 325km/h (202mph). The figures above made possible thanks to the Dual VVT-I technology, equal length exhaust manifolds and high-volume and 12-hole fuel injectors.
It features a double wishbone front suspension and a multilink system at the rear. Brakes are carbon ceramic material to make stops as quickly as possible.
The LFA rides on 265/35ZR20 (95Y) front tyres and 305/30ZR20 (99Y) types at the back. Aerodynamic elements include a flat underbody, a rear diffuser and a speed-controlled rear wing. The interior can be custom-tailored to suit buyers' needs while showing off a very high-tech instrumentation design.
Measuring at a 4.51m length, 1.90m width and 1.22m height, the kerb weight is 1,480 kg. This low weight is achieved through measures such as carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) cabin. The CFRP is four times the strength of aluminum thus gives the LFA an exceptionally stiff and strong structure and 100 kg lighter if using an equivalent aluminum body. 65% of the body is of CFRP in white while 35% used for the remaining parts.
The Lexus LFA supercar will be hand-assembled at the Motomachi plant in Toyota City. As for the price, it’s undoubtedly the most expensive Lexus, the company has ever created. The LFA supercar is priced at $375,000. Prices in Japan will be ¥37.5 million a unit. If you want to have one, you must be quick. Only 500 units will be sold worldwide between the start of production in December 2010 and when it ends in December 2012.
Additionally, Lexus has launched an online configurator for the Lexus LFA. The site allows potential customers and dreamers alike to choose one of six different colored brake calipers, and three wheel choices. The interior is equally customizable.

Tokyo motor show: 2010 Toyota Sai Hybrid
Details of the 2010 Toyota Sai have been released before its Tokyo debut. The small, hybrid-only luxury model will join the Prius in the Toyota lineup. It's aimed at consumers shopping for a hybrid who would prefer something larger than a Prius. Sales will begin from December 7 in Japan.
Inspired from the recently launched Lexus HS 250h, the Toyota Sai carries many from the vehicle. However, there are still some changes. The biggest difference is the styling, including the front fascia, windows, and rear doors. Lighting at the front and back has been modified. Additionally, the 2010 Toyota Sai is four inches shorter and up to 70 kgs lighter than the Lexus. Inside, new air vents, and a different steering wheel, are present.
Under the hood, the vehicle is powered by the HS 250h’s 2.4L four-cylinder petrol engine generating just under 150 horsepower, and up to 187 Nm of torque. It is mated to a strong electric motor, powered by a nickel-metal hydride battery, which produces an additional 140 hp and up to 270 Nm of torque. The hybrid powertrain is designed to utilize the two generators efficiently, giving the driver up to 185 hp at any given time. The automaker says that the new SAI will get the same 56-65 mpg as HS 250h in Japan’s economy cycle and 101-107 g/km of CO2.
Inside, an infortainment system, with HDD-based navigation, that features both a touch screen and on-wheel cursor control are offered as standard. Music is blasted through the ten speakers. Fabric seats come standard, with leather seats available.
The 2010 Toyota Sai has two trim levels, which can each be upgraded with the AS option package. Pricing, including tax, for the entry level Sai S begins at ¥3,380,000, or roughly $37,275, while the 2010 Toyota Sai G AS will be sold for ¥4,260,000 ($46,980).
Toyota expects to sell 36,000 units of the Toyota Sai annually with sales starting in Japan later this year. No word if the Sai will make it to the U.S. market.

MTM tunes Volskwagen Golf VI GTI
German tuners Motoren Technik Mayer has introduced a new package for the 2009 Volkswagen VI GTI. The result is to make it almost as good as the 2010 VW Golf R for a lot less money.
The most important update is the adding power. The standard Golf VI GTI comes from the factory with 210 HP 2.0 Liter TFSI four cylinder engine. Thanks to an extra air filter, and updated ECU tuning, the MTM boosts the engine to an impressive 270 horsepower and up to 390 Nm of torque. This boosts top speed to an electronically-limited 265 km/h.
In order to handle the additional power and provide better stability, MTM offers a new set of matt black 19’’MTM Bimoto light alloy wheels wrapped in 235/35 19 size Continental XL Sportcont tyres. A new Brembo braking system is also installed with 380mm discs and 8-piston calipers.
The MTM tuning kit will set you back just under €30,000, while the upcoming Golf R starts at €36,400.

Nissan 370Z 40th Anniversary Edition announced
Nissan has been selling Z line models for 40 years. Since the first Nissan Fairlady Z launched at 1969, more than 1,685,000 Z line models in five different generations has been sold over that time. To celebrating the 40th anniversary milestone, Nissan launched a new limited edition 370Z “40th Anniversary” model.
Based on the 332-hp 3.7L V6 370Z Coupe Touring model, the special edition producing 244kW (332hp) and 366Nm (270 lb-ft) of torque. Either a six-speed manual transmission or 7-speed automatic and a Sport Package are offered. Sport Package includes Nissan’s nifty SynchroRev Match system, a front chin spoiler, a rear spoiler, Nissan Sport Brakes, 19-inch Ray forged aluminum-alloy wheels and a viscous limited-slip differential. Special touches include red leather trim, red stitching throughout the cabin and a number of commemorative plaques. Finally, the car’s exterior is also finished in a unique "40th Quartz" paint scheme.
The car’s signature color will be Metal Gray, but it can also be had in Deep Maroon, Brilliant White Pearl, Brade Silver, Diamond Black and Vibrant Red.
No word if the 40th Anniversary Edition of the Z will be heading State side, but given the 240Z also launched in American in 1969, we suspect this model will land in U.S. Nissan dealers sometime next year.
The Nissan 370Z 40th Anniversary Edition will go on sale next spring in Japan. Prices are ¥4,483,500 (€33,043/ US$49,300) for the 6-speed manual and ¥4,588,500 (€33,817/ US$50,455) for the 7-speed automatic. But that figure would drop significantly if brought to America.

B&B Tunes 2010 Audi Q7 facelift
Germany tuning firm B&B Automobiltechnik has released several new performance packages for the 2010 Audi Q7 facelift. The standard Audi Q7 is nearly a perfect vehicle, whatever the exterior and interior equipments. The only area that the German automaker has left to be improved upon is what’s under the hood and B&B Automobiltechnik have all the options covered.
The range topping Q7 6.0 V12 TDI (500 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque) gets two tuning stages. The first (€2498) features revised electronics, a modified turbo (it increases boost pressure 0.2 bar), and various other upgrades. Thanks to these tweaks, the engine produces 565 hp and 1,220 Nm of torque. If that isn't powerful enough for you, the company can add a recalibrated ECU which enables the engine to turn out 595 hp and 1270 Nm of torque. The recalibrated ECU includes changes to the suction pipe, airflow and air cooling system, modifications to the unit-injector element, and modified ECU software.
For the Q7 4.2 TDI, B&B offers two tuning stages. The Stage 1 package (€1,698) boasts 375 hp and 850 Nm of torque, while the Stage 2 upgrade (€4,950) features 400 hp and 900 Nm of torque. Models equipped with the latter package can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6 seconds, before topping out at speeds above 250 km/h (155 mph).
Finally, the smallest and most fuel efficient model in the Q7 lineup, the Q7 3.0 TDI gets three tuning stages. First one is a Stage 3 package (€1,398) that produces 280 hp and 585 Nm of torque. Then is a pure "electronic performance optimization" (€1,498) with 300 hp and 600 Nm of torque. The other is a hardcore €3,950 package which produces 325 hp and 640 Nm of torque.
Besides, B&B offers special B&B alloy wheels for the Audi Q7 (available in 20, 22 and 23 inches), a sport suspension (€985) that lowers the ride height by up to 50mm, and aerodinamyc package (€3,498) including front and rear skirt, fender enlargements and roof spoiler.

After the ENCO 550 GT Biturbo with 405kW (550hp), tuning firm ENCO has introduced its latest confection - ENCO Gladiator 700 GT Biturbo which is based on the Porsche Cayenne Turbo.
Thanks to larger turbos, sport catalytic convertors, an ENCO-designed sport exhaust system with manifolds and other modifications, the power is greatly improved. The ride height of the ENCO Gladiator 700 GT Biturbo Porsche Cayenne has also been lowered by 50mm. The result is an output of 700hp (515kW) with 850Nm of torque sent to all four wheels. With that power, the vehicle can spring from 0 to 100km/h in 4.5 seconds while top speed reaches 290km/h. It’s impressive that these figures are coming from a 2.5-ton SUV.
Stopping power comes from 410mmx36mm brake disks and 12-piston calipers up front and 380mmx32mm disks with 4-piston calipers at the rear.
As for the styling, ENCO offers an exterior kit that consists of daytime running lights, a front apron, a carbonfiber bonnet, a roof spoiler with air flow openings and side skirts. The ENCO Gladiator 700 GT Biturbo rides on a set of 315/25R23 Dunlop Sport Maxx GT tires, featuring black and red ENCO Jura alloy rims.
Inside, there are four carbon fiber race seats (from the 911 GT3) covered in leather/Alcantara and a roll cage. The black and red theme is continued inside, such as carbon fibre fittings on the centre console, door lining and steering wheel.

2012 Infiniti M35 Hybrid Confirmed For Production
The all-new 2011 Infiniti M will be on sale from early 2010. Now Infiniti has confirmed its first production hybrid will follow up about 12 months later as a 2012 model-year car. Dubbed as 2012 Infiniti M35 Hybrid, the eco-friendly luxury sedan will arrive in Infiniti dealerships in spring 2011
Unlike the Nissan Altima hybrid, which used a hybrid system largely licensed from Toyota, the 2012 Infiniti M35 Hybrid will use Nissan’s own internally-developed hybrid system.
Fuel economy figures is not released. However, the Infiniti M35 Hybrid promises to be the brand's "cleanest and most economical car" ever. Meanwhile, it’s more about green, it's still a luxury car. Utilizing a single electric motor mated to a twin-clutch system, this hybrid system allows for a single prop shaft to the rear differential. Infiniti says the new technology allows for “linear performance” while keeping the driving dynamics of a conventional rear-drive vehicle. The Infiniti M35 Hybrid will be rear-wheel drive with power from a 3.5-liter V-6 engine.
Depending on driving conditions, the hybrid system can aid the V6 engine in power, or power the vehicle completely in EV mode. For instance, the hybrid drive system will aid the V-6's acceleration in "power assist" mode when maximum acceleration is desired, and can also recapture energy when decelerating and braking. Under "certain driving conditions," the M35 Hybrid can also run in EV mode.
Power for the M’s electric motor will be supplied by a “laminated” lithium-ion battery pack. Developed by parent company Nissan, Infiniti says this layout offers the same size as a traditional battery pack, but stores twice the power while also enhancing cooling performance and reliability.
The M35 Hybrid will be available in the United States and Europe.

Audi Combines Start-Stop Function With S-tronic Automatic Transmission
We know that with the use of engine stop-start systems, fuel savings could be in the range of 5-10%. This is a important way to improve fuel efficiency. However, the engine stop-start system is mostly available with manual transmissions only (not including hybrid vehicles). As a consequence, this technology hasn’t used much even in Europe. Now things are going to change.
Audi has introduced an engine start-stop system on A3 models equipped with the S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission. The start-stop system turns the engine off as soon as the vehicle comes to a stop; the engine stays off as long as the driver depresses the brake pedal. As soon as the driver removes their foot from the brake pedal, start-stop turns the engine back on--quietly, conveniently and quickly.
So far, the only models so far with this feature are the highly-efficient 1.6-liter TDI and 1.4-liter TFSI. Thanks to the start-stop system, fuel efficiency is improved and CO2 emissions decreases. The A3 1.6 TDI is powered by a four-cylinder TDI, which delivers 105 hp at 4,400 rpm and accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 11.7 seconds, top speed is 194 km/h (120 mph). Average fuel consumption is just 4.2 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers (56.00 US mpg), and 109 grams of CO2 per kilometer (175.42 g/mile).
The A3 1.4 TFSI four-cylinder gasoline engine delivers 125 hpand accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 9.3 seconds and tops out at 203 km/h (126 mph). Average fuel consumption is just 5.3 liters (44.38 US mpg), and 124 grams of CO2 per kilometer (199.56 g/mile).
Additionally, both A3s are equipped with an on-board energy-recovery system, which "intelligently controls the alternator to recover energy" during braking and coasting. The energy is temporarily stored in the battery, and then fed back into the electrical system during acceleration--thus reducing the load on the alternator.
Sales will start this November. Prices for the 3-door 1.4 TFSI start at €23,700 and €24,600 for the Sportback. The new 1.6 TDI with S tronic will sell at a base price of €25,500 for the 3-door and €26,400 for the Sportback.

Spy Photos: 2011 Citroen C4
The first spy shots of the upcoming second generation Citroen C4 has been revealed.
The spy shots doesn’t tell us Not much, because the camouflage is still pretty distracting and quite effective at disguising any changes to the design. However, we do get that the new Citroen C4, will be lighter and more efficient than the current model, the company’s product boss Mr Vincent Besson has told media recently. It will be produced in three-and five-door body and will be completed with the new 3-cylinder engines and, possibly, hybrid setup consisting of gasoline and electric motors.
According to Mr Besson, petrol-electric power is not necessary or economically viable in small city cars, and only for high-end versions of the next C4. However, he expects that “a large part of a future C5 range” will have hybrid power.
The C4 will be coming with a DS4 sibling too, just as the C3 has its more flashy counterpart in the DS3. Citroen will be using the DS designation for more lively, design-happy iterations of its model lineup. Citroen's strategy is to take the entire brand upmarket and set it up as an alternative consumer choice to the more established premium brands such as Audi, BMW and Mercedes.
The new Citroen C4 is scheduled to make its public debut at the Paris auto show in September of next year.

Hyundai has already announced that the standard Equus sedan will launch in the U.S. in 2010 as a 2011 model. However, there is no official comment on plans to bring this special edition.
Additionally, Hyundai has already built three bulletproof versions of the vehicles for the Korean president, which is the first locally produced car to serve the president.

Ford introduced the 2010 Ford Figo in India
Ford has announced the much-anticipated Ford Figo will be produced at Ford's plant in Chennai, India. The new model is mainly targeted at small car B-segment in India market and Ford's Asia Pacific and Africa region.
In India, the small car B-segment in India accounts for 70 percent of the new vehicle market. Thinking highly of the market, Ford is investing $500 million into its Chennai plant, increasing its annual capacity to 200,000 units. Then the plant will become a regional centre of excellence for Ford small car production.
"Our exciting new Ford Figo shows how serious we are about India," said Mulally. "It reflects our commitment to compete with great products in all segments of this car market. We are confident the Ford Figo will be a product that Indian consumers really want and value."
Ford has made it clear that the Figo is not a competitor to the $2,000 Tata Nano. “Right now we are going to focus on the larger portion of the (small car) market, which is the B size,” Mulally said. “So, we don’t have plans to compete in the A size, or sub-B right now.”
Based on the fifth generation 2008 Fiesta, the Figo leverages Ford’s small-car platform architecture and is treated to Ford’s kinetic design language. From the front grille to the sculptured lines the styling is modern and reflective of current models like the Mondeo and the Fiesta. The latter also shares some technologies with the Figo. However, Ford is reserving further details about the vehicle until closer to its production launch early in 2010.

Frankfurt Motor Show: 2010 Lexus GS 450h
Lexus has introduced 2010 GS 450h at 2009 Frankfurt Motor show. The 2010 model comes with minor styling updates, new colours, revised Pre-Crash Safety system and other innovative navigation and audio packages.
The GS 450h has a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine working side by side with the Lexus Hybrid System. Full system power is 254kW (345hp) from which an average fuel consumption figure of 35.8mpg is achieved. C02 emissions are 186g/km.
Safety has been improved with the updated Pre-Crash Safety system. The new system uses the pre-crash brake technology. Both front seats are fitted with new inflator-operated active headrests, activated by a signal from the ECU in the event of a rear-end impact. While a rear impact happens, the inflator integrated in the headrests slides a piston that unlocks a mechanism and projects the headrest forwards and upwards, reducing the risk of serious injuries.
The exterior changes include new front grille, hybrid-blue rear lamp clusters modified to incorporate larger, transparent outer lenses, and redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels for the SE-L. The range of 11 exterior colours are available including Vanilla Mist, Richmond Green and Atlantic Blue.
Inside, the 2010 Lexus GS 450h features a new hybrid-blue backlit stop/start button and grey bird's eye maple wood grain trim, and a satellite navigation system with a 40GB hard drive among others. The Lexus GS 450h range is fitted with two new audio systems, a 10-speaker Lexus premium package and a 14-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound System giving 5.1-channel surround sound on selected CDs and DVDs.
Both systems are now DAB ready and provide USB and audio jack plug connection for fully controlled use of portable music players, and Bluetooth with an audio streaming function, and will also provide a “sound library” function, using the navigation system’s HDD to transfer and store music files from CD up to 10GB capacity.
Prices will be released closer to the launch date.

Frankfurt Auto Show: 2010 Citroen C3
The popular Citroen C3 supermini is a great success, over two million models delivered worldwide. To continue the success, the company comes with the 2010 Citroen C3, which follows so much of the outgoing car.
When compared to previous versions, the 2010 Citroen C3 has a sportier edge that lends the car a more dynamic, yet robust appearance. The rounded shape remained. The Citroen C3 is quite more spacious with wider track. Measuring 3.94m long and 1.71m wide, it is surprising that it offers 300 liters of boot space. Buyers also can opt to have C3’s ‘Zenith’ windscreen, which runs over into the roof.
Inside, the new Citroen C3 offers USB connection, iPod and Bluetooth functionality and satellite navigation.
From launch, an HDi 90 powered version will be available emitting just 99g/km CO2 – the first full production Citroën to emit less than 100g/km. Whilst the arrival of new power plants from 2011, incorporating second-generation Stop & Start technology, will see diesel versions emitting as little as 90g/km CO2, to be followed by new generation three-cylinder petrol engines with less than 100g/km CO2.
The new 2010 Citroen C3 is set to arrive in the UK from early 2010. However, it’s really a pity that we can't buy Citroens in America anymore.

Frankfurt Motor Show: 2010 Ford Grand C-MAX
Ford is expanding it’s family-oriented MPVs range with a new a new seven-seat model, the 2010 Ford Grand C-MAX. The 2010 Ford Grand C-MAX is targeted to compete with compact seven-seaters such as the Renault Grand Scenic and VW Touran. Ford is hoping to score a similar sales success to that of the S-Max, which doubled Ford’s UK sales of MPVs and cut into the share of the market-leading Renault Espace.
Based on the new global C-platform architecture that will underpin the next Ford Focus, the 2010 Ford Grand C-MAX is a long-wheelbase version of the five-seat C-Max, which was also launched at Frankfurt and will go on sale in autumn 2010. To accommodate a third row of seats, the Grand C-MAX gets a 150mm stretch than the five-seat C-Max. Ford has also eliminated the sloping roof to allow for improved headroom for third row passengers. The greenhouse also gets tweaked in the taffy-pulling exercise.
The Grand C-MAX also has a pair of sliding rear doors which is first used for a Ford passenger car and an optional powered tailgate. In the second row of three seats it has a novel arrangement for the central chair, which tumble-folds and then stores inside the neighbouring seat to open a central aisle through the cabin.
Inside, the cabin appears luxurious and modern. The button-intensive dash is dominated by a massive control knob which operates a small display screen. Other features include contrast stitching, a separate display for climate control functions, and a push button ignition.
It is worth mentioning that Ford is promised the Grand C-Max will build on Ford’s reputation for excellent driving. Due to the Focus’s independent rear suspension, the Grand C-Max is likely to have dynamics to beat its class.
The Ford Grand C-Max is set to be among the first European built. USA saling will begin at the end of 2011. It will be mostly unchanged, except for minor tweaks to comply with US regulations.

Frankfurt Motor Show: 2010 Volvo C30 R-Design Facelift
We can see the 2010 Volvo C30 and C70 facelift at the Frankfurt Motor Show, also the 2010 Volvo C30 R-Design. It comes with a number of visual and technical improvements to the standard one.
The most noticeable and important update is the redesigned chassis and the steering, which create a sporty driving experience and better response. The chassis of the R-Design has been modified in several areas in order to meet high standards. The steering is more precise thanks to the stiffer bushings.
"A customer who test-drives the new C30 R-Design will immediately feel the difference," said Stefan Sällqvist, manager Vehicle Dynamics at Volvo Cars. "Even before the car has covered fifty metres, the driver will be aware of the crisp steering and the distinct chassis response. We are very pleased with the result and have considerable hope that keen drivers will feel the same way."
Additionally, the spring stiffness has been increased by no less than 30 % and the dampers are also stiffer due to the use of mono-tube type dampers that build up pressure much more quickly. With the new springs and dampers, the car ride height has been reduced by 10 mm. Volvo also installed stiffer roll stabilizers.
In terms of styling, the 2010 Volvo C30 R-Design features a redesigned front and rear bodykit, including the R-Design badge on the grille, grille and door mirror housings in special silk metal finish, new colour-coded side skirts, a tailgate spoiler and chrome-plated sports tailpipes. The car stands on 17-inch five-spoke Cratus aluminium wheels (18-inch optional). Buyers get seven options of exterior body colors.
Inside, the R-Design ‘theme’ continues, such as blue speedo and rev counter gauges, embossed R-Design emblems in the front seats, a sports steering wheel trimmed in leather with the R-Design emblem and a gear lever knob trimmed in leather and aluminium. The upholstery is available with two colour combinations: cream-coloured leather with sides in dark grey Flex-Tec, or off-black leather with edges in off-black.

Frankfurt Motor Show: 2010 Volvo C30 Facelift
The highly anticipated 2010 Volvo C30 Facelift was shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It features a new exterior design which is seemingly inspired by the S60 concept and the newly C70 facelift, making it more in line with all the other current models.
The redesign features new body panels for the wings and bonnet, new headlights, and a new bumper. A restyled honeycomb grille with a larger Volvo logo makes its way onto the final version. The rear has also been worked on. Buyers have an option to specify the rear bumper assembly to be in the car’s body color or a different one. Also available is the new color, Orange Flame Metallic (pictured), as well as white wheels option.
Inside, new upholstery colors are added on the options list. Of this, Program Chief Maria Uggla says, "We know that a large proportion, almost half, of all C30 customers make detailed interior choices. They want to decide for themselves what their car should look like and are not interested in readymade packages. The new C30 gives them a range of fresh, modern style cues in terms of both colour and fabric to choose between."
Besides, a new sport chassis is available, for a price, providing a "sharper" and "stiffer" response. Other modifications include sharper steering, a tighter steering ratio that gives a 10% faster response to inputs, increased spring stiffness (up by 30%) and stiffer dampers.
Engine options include five diesel variants, ranging from 107bhp to 177bhp, and three petrols, ranging from 99bhp to 227bhp. These include two DRIVe eco models powered by the 1.6-litre diesel engine. The models with stop-start system average 72.4mpg and emits 104g/km of CO2. Without the system, it averages 62.8mpg and emits 119g/km.

Frankfurt Motor Show:2010 Volvo C70 Facelift
Volvo C70 is getting a fresh look for 2010. Inspired by the S60 Concept, the 2010 Volvo C70 Facelift features dynamic styling. The highlight is without a doubt the completely redesigned front end which gets a more aggressive shape. Updates include a bold grille, new headlights, and additional chrome detailing.
According to Fedde Talsma, exterior chief designer of Volvo Cars, Volvo has redesigned the front and rear of the car so that they “harmonize” better with the bigger Volvo models. At the rear, clearly seen is the addition of LED taillights. Other changes include a newly introduced Flamenco Red Pearl color for the exterior. As before, the convertible comes equipped with a three-piece steel roof which can be raised or lowered in approximately 30 seconds.
Inside, a redesigned instrument panel is added. To improve passenger comfort, Volvo uses better-quality materials, such as softer leather for the C70's seats. Safety is taken seriously concern as for Volvo models. Designed to be one of the safest convertibles in the world, the C70 boasts unique door-mounted inflatable curtains, side-impact airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners, and pop-up rear metal hoops which deploy in case of a rollover.
Engine choices will be carried over from Volvo's familiar lineup of diesel and petrol engines. On the petrol side there's the base 2.4 with 140 hp and 220 Nm of torque, the mid-level 2.4i with 170 hp and 230 Nm of torque, and the range topping T5 with 230 hp and 320 Nm of torque. Diesel models include the 2.0D with 136 hp and 320Nm of torque as well as the D5 with 180 hp and 400 Nm of torque.
In the U.S., the 230 hp T5 is likely to remain the only powerplant. Production begins in November with deliveries starting in early 2010. Pricing hasn't been announced, but is expected to be similar to 2009 model pricing.

In Africa, the Land Cruiser is even regarded as the King of Africa for conquering the toughest terrain. And now, as things move on, Toyota revealed the brand new 2010 Land Cruiser which is the sixth-generation Land Cruiser, boosting as the most technically advanced Land Cruiser ever made and one of the most capable if not the most capable off-road vehicle in its class.
Based on the Prado platform, the 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser SUV is only for the UK and other Europe market. Sales will begin in the UK on the 1st of December 2009.
Under the hood, power comes from a 3.0-litre D-4D turbo common rail diesel engine mated with a 5-speed automatic transmission, producing 128kW (171bhp) at 3,400rpm and maximum torque of 410Nm between 1,600 and 2,800rpm. This is enough to accelerate the car to reach 62mph in 11.7 seconds and get a top speed of 109mph (175km/h). The average fuel consumption is an admirable (for a heavy SUV) 8.1 liters/100 km (29 mpg US) and the CO2 emissions of 214 g/km.
The UK market will offer the Land Cruiser exclusively as a 5-door model with seven seats as standard while other European countries will have the option of a 3-door model and a 4.0-litre V6 Dual VVT-i petrol engine.
The advanced technical features include the new Multi-terrain Select system which allows the driver to select the terrain that best suits the situation. Four cameras, positioned at the corners of the car, will help to monitor the situation all around. There's also Crawl Control and a Steering Angle display function.
Additionally the new Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) adjusts the front and rear anti-roll bars for optimised on and off-road performance. The electronically controlled rear air suspension system has an auto-levelling function and switchable height control function.
To overtake harsh trails, its body-on-frame chassis has been stiffened by 11% overall. The wheels are either 17-inch or 18-inch and come rolled inside 245/70R17 or 265/60R18 tyres respectively.
Inside the features list is as long as the car's 2.79m wheelbase. The left and right hand seats for instance, can be raised and lowered independently, using the Toyota Easy Flat system. Other features included are USB ports, a 14-speaker JBL Synthesis Premium Surround Sound System, a Hard Disc Drive (HDD) navigation system and a multi-information switch on the steering.

Frankfurt Auto Show: Peugeot BB1 Concept car
It’s not much like a car. According to Peugeot, "Its mother is a scooter. Its father is a car." So the result is that the BB1 combines the utility of a car and the flexibility of a quad bike. The name BB1 originally referred to a motorised bike from the 1960s. More important is that the car is a zero-emissions vehicle, electrically powered.
The Peugeot BB1 Concept car features a compact and smart body design, maximizing the interior space. There are a pair of reverse-hinged doors with mini roll-down windows, LED lights, a rear-view cameras replacing mirrors, and a solar cell-covered glass bubble roof which not only increases headroom but is also layered in solar panels that operate in daylight to keep the car ventilated. It can sit four people even though it is only 2.5 metres long. Another impressive feature is the car’s great mobility. It has a turning circle of 3.5m and can even park perpendicular to the pavement.
Packing two electric motors mounted in the rear wheels, the BB1 gets a maximum of 15kW (20hp) - or 7.5kW per motor. It can accelerate from 0-19mph in 2.8 seconds and 19-37mph in 4 seconds.
The power for the vehicle is provided by two lithium-ion battery packs under the right and left-hand rear seats, with a comfortable range of 75 miles. This layout avoids any reduction in interior space or storage space. Furthermore, the location helps with the weight
As a future study interior interactive technologies are a must for the BB1. As such you get a multi-function colour display that links the phone, navigation system, internet access, the radio and MP3 player.

2010 Audi R8 Spyder Officially Unveiled at the Frankfurt auto show
No more spy shots or speculation. The highly anticipated Audi R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI quattro, which is a drop-top version of Audi’s brilliant V10-powered R8 supercar, has been unveiled at the Frankfurt auto show.
Only the 5.2-liter V10 engine is available, which is producing an impressive 386 kW (525 hp) and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft) of torque. As such, the R8 Spyder can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds before hitting a top speed of 313 km/h (194 mph). The fuel consumption figure is also acceptable. The six-speed manual models average 14.9L/100km (15.79 US mpg), while R tronic automated manual gearbox get 13.9L/100km (16.92 US mpg).
To keep the weight low, the R8 Spyder features the aluminum Audi Space Frame (ASF) which only weighs 216 kilograms (476.2 lb). That’s 6 kilograms (13.23 lb) heavier than the one used on the R8 Coupe, because of the strengthening to compensate for the lack of the roof.
Speaking of the roof, Audi uses a traditional cloth top instead of a targa top setup as initially report. It only weighs 30 kilograms (66.14 lb). The soft top is so conventional that it is full automated and can be closed or opened in just 19 seconds at speeds of up to 31 mph. To further maximize convenience, the rear window is separate from the top which allows it to be raised independently of the roof.
In terms of styling, there are black front end accents, a chrome grille, full-LED headlights, an anodized aluminium windscreen surround, three choices of colour for the soft-top. With the lack of a fixed roof, Audi replaced the trademark 'sideblades' with carbon fiber side panels.
Insides, the roadster comes with Nappa leather upholstery, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, GPS navigation, heated seats, and a world-first optional seatbelt microphone for hands-free telephone conversation. If you forget to put the top up on a hot summer day, the seats will be cooler than normal because they use special "pigments that reflect the infrared component of sunlight."
Sales will begin in early 2010. The base price is 156,400 euros. U.S. pricing has not yet been announced.

2009 MINI Roadster Concept at Frankfurt Auto Show
2009 MINI Roadster Concept and Coupe Concept, dubbed as the Oxford Twins, have been unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Looking at the elegant design and fascinating, sporting driving characteristics, we can’t help hoping that MINI brings these two cars to market.
Under the hood, the two-seater MINI Roadster gets the John Cooper Works edition 1.6-liter twin-scroll turbo engine that generates 211 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque. An extra torque comes from the "overboost" button, then the torque rating increases to 280 Nm. Thanks to the improved weight distribution, the slightly shorter layout and lower weight, the Roadster gets a better handling. Safety is taken in seriously consider. MINI has you covered with a pop-up rollbar that helps keep the car's passengers safe even if things go horribly wrong.
As a MINI being, it’s easy to recognize from the styling. Extensive use of family design cues makes that possible, including the round headlights, short hood and circular interior theme. The Roadster is identical to the standard Cooper from the windshield forward and the door panels. From the windshield back, there are numerous differences, including a more steeply raked windshield, a more rounded rear end, and a short decklid--not to mention the convertible top. Talking about the top, however, the Roadster's soft top won't drop on its own--it's manual-operation only.
The Roadster comes in at 3.71 meters long, 1.68 meters wide, and 1.36 meters high. Meanwhile, the roadster has a cargo capacity of 250 liters, much more than the 150 liters found on the Mazda MX-5 Miata, or the 142 liters in the Honda S2000, also beats out the 2010 Nissan 370Z Roadster. The cargo space falls well short of the 283 liters available in the BMW Z4.
Some special MINI features include the "openairometer", which will warm the hearts of Convertible fans, plus the NatureGuard function which informs the driver of the environmental impact of their driving. Not that this green machine isn't concerned with speed either: a "Highspeed Shifter" swaps cogs with ease and the "Gravity" indicator gives a readout on lateral acceleration. The Roadster Concept can even measure the driver's heartbeat--perhaps the gold standard of how exciting a car is to drive.

Carlsson 2010 Mercedes E63 AMG with 585 hp
Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG is regarded as the most dynamic business limousine by the company. Now German tuner Carlsson offers an even more powerful version of the E 63 AMG, dubbed as Carlsson E-CK63 RS, boasting a hefty improvement in horsepower over the standard E 63 AMG.
The 6.3 liter V8 engine which usually has 525 (386 kW) and 630 Nm, now has 585 hp (430 kW) and a flying 695 Nm of torque. The extra power is attributed to the "re-engineering" of the engine. Carlsson offers a perfected motor management, an optimised exhaust system and most accurate adjustments. With that power, the Carlsson 2010 Mercedes E63 AMG accelerates to 100 km/h in only 4.5 seconds. This is three tenths of a second less than the acceleration values of the E 63 AMG.
Carlsson also provides an aerodynamic package made out of polyurethane (PU-RIM) which guarantees perfect fit and highest stability. The package includes front and rear skirts, extended wings and side moldings. The Carlsson wheel 1/5 REVO in 8.5 and 10.5x20 inches are also available.
Inside, Carlsson uses leather and ultra-suede on the seats, steering wheel and the inside of the doors to create an enormously luxurious atmosphere. The illuminated floor mats with the Carlsson logo are another eye-catcher.
In addition, Carlsson confirms the renowned quality with a three-year Carlsson Warranty for its own works.
