Mitsubishi has announced pricing for its range-topping 2010 Lancer Evolution MR Touring, starts from $40,990 (not including a $720 destination). Yes, it’s not cheap. However, considering of its performance and equipments options, it’s value for the money.
Power comes from a 291-horsepower turbocharged engine, which is mated to a six-speed Twin Clutch Sportronic Shift Transmission (TC-SST). Mitsubishi's Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel-drive system, Brembo brakes, 18-inch BBS forged alloy wheels with Yokohama tires are offered as standard.
Other features include a a new higher-res info display between the gauges, an Evo-first moonroof, genuine leather-covered heated Recaros, a 40 GB hard-disc infotainment system, Bluetooth connectivity and a 710-watt Rockford Fosgate premium audio system. The car gains a few pounds with the extra equipment and additional soundproofing – even though it saves a bit by dropping the rear wing in favor of a small lip spoiler.
For safety, the 2010 Lancer Evolution MR Touring features a seven-airbag safety system including a driver’s knee airbag.
Some optional goodies you’ll want to tick include the $425 rear parking sensors, custom side skirts for $900 and a set of wheel locks for $32. If you decide to trust Mitsubishi’s taste entirely and go for the full package with all the optional features, you would have to pay more than $52,000.
Additionally, Mitsubishi boasts a 3 year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper New Vehicle Limited Warranty, a 7-year/100,000-mile anti-corrosion Perforation Limited Warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile Powertrain New Vehicle Limited Warranty and a 5-year/Unlimited miles Roadside Assistance.
