Base on the original Focus Econetic model, the 2010 Ford Focus ECOnetic comes with detail improvements and all-new technologies. Then we see a new innovative Econetic model featuring lower emissions and better fuel efficiency.
The new eco technologies applied in the 2010 Focus ECOnetic includes the Ford Auto-Start-Stop system which was previewed on Ford Iosis MAX Concept at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, Smart Regenerative Charging, and Ford Eco Mode. Packing with the Auto-Start-Stop system, the new Focus Econetic gets an impressive average CO2 emissions of 99g/km, with a combined fuel economy of 74.2 mpg. Without it, the Focus Econetic will still be able to manage 104g/km and target average fuel consumption is 70.6 mpg..
What’s Ford Eco Mode? It is an new software that monitors an individual’s driving style and gear shifts, and generates a scoring system and advice to help save fuel.
According to Dr. Thilo Seibert, Manager CO2 Technologies for Ford of Europe, "The new Focus ECOnetic is particularly significant as it paves the way for some of these technologies to be implemented into our core vehicle series in the near future".
Power comes from a 108bhp 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi engine with standard coated Diesel Particulate Filter (cDPF). To achieve a cd of 0.31, the Econetic is lowered by 10mm at the front and 8mm at the rear, with blanking plates at the front, helping to achieve a cd of 0.31. It also gets the latest generation Michelin Energy Saver 195/65R15 tires to lower rolling resistance.
The new 2010 Focus ECOnetic with Auto-Start-Stop will be available as a five-door model only in selected European markets from the first quarter of 2010.

Frankfurt Motor Show: 2010 Volvo C30 R-Design Facelift
We can see the 2010 Volvo C30 and C70 facelift at the Frankfurt Motor Show, also the 2010 Volvo C30 R-Design. It comes with a number of visual and technical improvements to the standard one.
The most noticeable and important update is the redesigned chassis and the steering, which create a sporty driving experience and better response. The chassis of the R-Design has been modified in several areas in order to meet high standards. The steering is more precise thanks to the stiffer bushings.
"A customer who test-drives the new C30 R-Design will immediately feel the difference," said Stefan Sällqvist, manager Vehicle Dynamics at Volvo Cars. "Even before the car has covered fifty metres, the driver will be aware of the crisp steering and the distinct chassis response. We are very pleased with the result and have considerable hope that keen drivers will feel the same way."
Additionally, the spring stiffness has been increased by no less than 30 % and the dampers are also stiffer due to the use of mono-tube type dampers that build up pressure much more quickly. With the new springs and dampers, the car ride height has been reduced by 10 mm. Volvo also installed stiffer roll stabilizers.
In terms of styling, the 2010 Volvo C30 R-Design features a redesigned front and rear bodykit, including the R-Design badge on the grille, grille and door mirror housings in special silk metal finish, new colour-coded side skirts, a tailgate spoiler and chrome-plated sports tailpipes. The car stands on 17-inch five-spoke Cratus aluminium wheels (18-inch optional). Buyers get seven options of exterior body colors.
Inside, the R-Design ‘theme’ continues, such as blue speedo and rev counter gauges, embossed R-Design emblems in the front seats, a sports steering wheel trimmed in leather with the R-Design emblem and a gear lever knob trimmed in leather and aluminium. The upholstery is available with two colour combinations: cream-coloured leather with sides in dark grey Flex-Tec, or off-black leather with edges in off-black.

Frankfurt Motor Show: 2010 Volvo C30 Facelift
The highly anticipated 2010 Volvo C30 Facelift was shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It features a new exterior design which is seemingly inspired by the S60 concept and the newly C70 facelift, making it more in line with all the other current models.
The redesign features new body panels for the wings and bonnet, new headlights, and a new bumper. A restyled honeycomb grille with a larger Volvo logo makes its way onto the final version. The rear has also been worked on. Buyers have an option to specify the rear bumper assembly to be in the car’s body color or a different one. Also available is the new color, Orange Flame Metallic (pictured), as well as white wheels option.
Inside, new upholstery colors are added on the options list. Of this, Program Chief Maria Uggla says, "We know that a large proportion, almost half, of all C30 customers make detailed interior choices. They want to decide for themselves what their car should look like and are not interested in readymade packages. The new C30 gives them a range of fresh, modern style cues in terms of both colour and fabric to choose between."
Besides, a new sport chassis is available, for a price, providing a "sharper" and "stiffer" response. Other modifications include sharper steering, a tighter steering ratio that gives a 10% faster response to inputs, increased spring stiffness (up by 30%) and stiffer dampers.
Engine options include five diesel variants, ranging from 107bhp to 177bhp, and three petrols, ranging from 99bhp to 227bhp. These include two DRIVe eco models powered by the 1.6-litre diesel engine. The models with stop-start system average 72.4mpg and emits 104g/km of CO2. Without the system, it averages 62.8mpg and emits 119g/km.

Frankfurt Motor Show:2010 Volvo C70 Facelift
Volvo C70 is getting a fresh look for 2010. Inspired by the S60 Concept, the 2010 Volvo C70 Facelift features dynamic styling. The highlight is without a doubt the completely redesigned front end which gets a more aggressive shape. Updates include a bold grille, new headlights, and additional chrome detailing.
According to Fedde Talsma, exterior chief designer of Volvo Cars, Volvo has redesigned the front and rear of the car so that they “harmonize” better with the bigger Volvo models. At the rear, clearly seen is the addition of LED taillights. Other changes include a newly introduced Flamenco Red Pearl color for the exterior. As before, the convertible comes equipped with a three-piece steel roof which can be raised or lowered in approximately 30 seconds.
Inside, a redesigned instrument panel is added. To improve passenger comfort, Volvo uses better-quality materials, such as softer leather for the C70's seats. Safety is taken seriously concern as for Volvo models. Designed to be one of the safest convertibles in the world, the C70 boasts unique door-mounted inflatable curtains, side-impact airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners, and pop-up rear metal hoops which deploy in case of a rollover.
Engine choices will be carried over from Volvo's familiar lineup of diesel and petrol engines. On the petrol side there's the base 2.4 with 140 hp and 220 Nm of torque, the mid-level 2.4i with 170 hp and 230 Nm of torque, and the range topping T5 with 230 hp and 320 Nm of torque. Diesel models include the 2.0D with 136 hp and 320Nm of torque as well as the D5 with 180 hp and 400 Nm of torque.
In the U.S., the 230 hp T5 is likely to remain the only powerplant. Production begins in November with deliveries starting in early 2010. Pricing hasn't been announced, but is expected to be similar to 2009 model pricing.

Frankfurt Auto Show: Peugeot BB1 Concept car
It’s not much like a car. According to Peugeot, "Its mother is a scooter. Its father is a car." So the result is that the BB1 combines the utility of a car and the flexibility of a quad bike. The name BB1 originally referred to a motorised bike from the 1960s. More important is that the car is a zero-emissions vehicle, electrically powered.
The Peugeot BB1 Concept car features a compact and smart body design, maximizing the interior space. There are a pair of reverse-hinged doors with mini roll-down windows, LED lights, a rear-view cameras replacing mirrors, and a solar cell-covered glass bubble roof which not only increases headroom but is also layered in solar panels that operate in daylight to keep the car ventilated. It can sit four people even though it is only 2.5 metres long. Another impressive feature is the car’s great mobility. It has a turning circle of 3.5m and can even park perpendicular to the pavement.
Packing two electric motors mounted in the rear wheels, the BB1 gets a maximum of 15kW (20hp) - or 7.5kW per motor. It can accelerate from 0-19mph in 2.8 seconds and 19-37mph in 4 seconds.
The power for the vehicle is provided by two lithium-ion battery packs under the right and left-hand rear seats, with a comfortable range of 75 miles. This layout avoids any reduction in interior space or storage space. Furthermore, the location helps with the weight
As a future study interior interactive technologies are a must for the BB1. As such you get a multi-function colour display that links the phone, navigation system, internet access, the radio and MP3 player.

2010 Audi R8 Spyder Officially Unveiled at the Frankfurt auto show
No more spy shots or speculation. The highly anticipated Audi R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI quattro, which is a drop-top version of Audi’s brilliant V10-powered R8 supercar, has been unveiled at the Frankfurt auto show.
Only the 5.2-liter V10 engine is available, which is producing an impressive 386 kW (525 hp) and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft) of torque. As such, the R8 Spyder can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds before hitting a top speed of 313 km/h (194 mph). The fuel consumption figure is also acceptable. The six-speed manual models average 14.9L/100km (15.79 US mpg), while R tronic automated manual gearbox get 13.9L/100km (16.92 US mpg).
To keep the weight low, the R8 Spyder features the aluminum Audi Space Frame (ASF) which only weighs 216 kilograms (476.2 lb). That’s 6 kilograms (13.23 lb) heavier than the one used on the R8 Coupe, because of the strengthening to compensate for the lack of the roof.
Speaking of the roof, Audi uses a traditional cloth top instead of a targa top setup as initially report. It only weighs 30 kilograms (66.14 lb). The soft top is so conventional that it is full automated and can be closed or opened in just 19 seconds at speeds of up to 31 mph. To further maximize convenience, the rear window is separate from the top which allows it to be raised independently of the roof.
In terms of styling, there are black front end accents, a chrome grille, full-LED headlights, an anodized aluminium windscreen surround, three choices of colour for the soft-top. With the lack of a fixed roof, Audi replaced the trademark 'sideblades' with carbon fiber side panels.
Insides, the roadster comes with Nappa leather upholstery, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, GPS navigation, heated seats, and a world-first optional seatbelt microphone for hands-free telephone conversation. If you forget to put the top up on a hot summer day, the seats will be cooler than normal because they use special "pigments that reflect the infrared component of sunlight."
Sales will begin in early 2010. The base price is 156,400 euros. U.S. pricing has not yet been announced.
